Announcing: Country-Specific Pavilions for International Exhibitors

With impressive growth at the premier industry event, the 2017 Show will feature for the first time country-specific pavilions for international exhibitors.

Pavilions from the United Kingdom, Canada, China and Taiwan will replace the International Pavilion, where previously multiple countries exhibited together in one space. Global Pet Expo officials also expect more than 100 additional international exhibitors to have a presence in the special sections and general Show Floor area where they will feature products that showcase international trends.


The overall success of the Show is influenced by international participation and we’re happy to offer this exciting new opportunity to cultivate that influence.

If you’re a buyer, manufacturer rep, manufacturer or member of the media looking to attend the premier industry event, registration is open!


If you are interested in being an exhibitor, you must be a current member of APPA or PIDA. If you’re already a member, visit our website to access the Exhibitor Space Application & Agreement.

Registration is free for all qualified buyers. If you have previously attended Global Pet Expo, login to your account and register yourself and colleagues. For new buyers, fill out and submit the New Buyer Qualification Form.

Manufacturer Reps:
Registration is also free for all qualified manufacturer representatives. Manufacturer Representatives are defined as independent third-party agents or companies who represent two or more manufacturers in a sales capacity. Manufacturer Reps may qualify and register here.

Members of the Press:
Global Pet Expo also provides press badges to qualified media to cover the Show! Registration is now open and you are encouraged to pre-register, as press who attempt to register on-site may be turned away if proper credentials are not verified. We’re Now Taking Submissions for the 2017 Retailer Excellence Awards!

Nominations for the Retailer Excellence Awards, designed to honor outstanding independent pet stores, are now being accepted!


Nominations may be submitted by retailers, manufacturers, reps and distributors.

All ballots must be received by February 10, 2017.

Independent pet stores can be nominated for the following categories:

  1. Best Overall Single-Store Retailer: Recognizes a single-store retailer that excels in sales, customer service, store design, merchandising and community service.
  2. Best Overall Multi-Unit Retailer (2-10 stores): Recognizes multi-unit retailers with between two and 10 stores that excel in sales, customer service, store design, merchandising and community service.
  3. Best Overall Multi-Unit Retailer (10 or more stores): Recognizes multi-unit retailers with 10 or more stores that excel in sales, customer service, store design, merchandising and community service.
  4. Best Live Animal Retailer Award: This award recognizes a retailer that excels overall in sales, customer service, store design, merchandising and community service. Nominees should also provide a clean, safe and professional environment for customers and employees while demonstrating care, concern and knowledge of companion animals.
  5. Best Merchandising Award: Recognizes a retailer that demonstrates outstanding creative techniques to promote sales and services.
  6. Multi-Service Excellence Award: Recognizes a retailer that effectively offers a broad spectrum of services including grooming, training, boarding, etc.
  7. Best Marketing Award:  Honors a retailer that effectively executes sales and promotional techniques to increase sales and customers including the use of advertising, public relations, social media and more.
  8. BestCustomer Service Award: Recognizes a retailer that provides an unmatched level of customer service, demonstrates familiarity with products and services, etc.
  9. Best Store Design Award: Honors a retailer that demonstrates excellence in overall store design including merchandising displays, store layout, curb appeal and more.
  10. Best Community Service Award: Recognizes a retailer that demonstrates fellowship, integrity and a clear demonstration that the store is committed to giving back to the community.

APPA members, in addition to all of your other exclusive member benefits, you have access to the Premier Industry Event, Global Pet Expo! If you’ve never attended the Show, here are a few stunning facts about last year that will make you want to go:

Global Pet Expo is not only the first trade show of the year, but also the pet industry’s largest annual trade show, and we have the numbers to prove it:

Total attendance in 2016 came in at a staggering 15,478 attendees including 6,170 qualified buyers who walked the 320,000 net square-foot Show floor! With 1,087 exhibitors and 3,218 booths sold, our exhibit space grew by nearly 10,000 feet to accommodate the space needed to share over 3,000 new pet product launches – another Show record!

And to make for a truly “global,” Global Pet Expo, 21% of exhibitors and 24% of buyers this year were from countries outside the United States, a clear indication that once again, Global Pet Expo is a key trading opportunity for companies around the world!


Did we also mention that more than 220 members of the press were there from magazines and bloggers to national media outlets like The TODAY Show, ABCNetwork and Fox & Friends, as well as celebrities like Lisa Vanderpump, Outkast’s Big Boi, Pit Boss Shorty and Christie Rampone? We welcomed some impressive media to the 2016 Show and are looking forward to more great coverage in 2017.

Fans took to Twitter over 5,000 times using the official Show hashtag #GlobalPetExpo to talk about what was new and happening on the Show floor. These tweets generated more than 33 million impressions, reaching more than 5.4 million people. All of this social interaction sent #GlobalPetExpo soaring to the top of Twitter’s most tweeted list, earning a spot in the ‘trending topics’ yet again.

If these numbers aren’t enough to get your tail wagging, we don’t know what will.
